Eco-Friendly Boat Trip Benefiting the Environment

The Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted seas in the world, and with each passing year, the problem of human-made waste is becoming increasingly acute. Every person can contribute to cleaning up floating debris by taking an eco-friendly kayak tour around the bay.


You can join the eco-project in Helsinki, Espoo, and Oulu by selecting your desired location, day, and time. You will be provided with a specially equipped two-person kayak for trash collection, life jackets, and cleaning tools for a three-hour trip. There are also storage lockers at the kayak parking lot where you can leave your belongings.


You don’t need to worry about language barriers or feel uncomfortable if you’re an introvert: registration, equipment pick-up, and return are all contactless. After the cleanup, don’t forget to weigh the collected trash, dispose of it in the appropriate container, and neatly pack away the used equipment.


If you decide to land on one of the islands during the cleanup, remember that it's bird nesting season. Be mindful of where you step to avoid crushing eggs, and don’t feed or approach the birds too closely.

Please note that on windy days, it is not recommended for beginners without kayaking experience to go out on the water. You must be able to swim, and make sure to bring a change of clothes in case you accidentally lose your balance :)
