We invite all residents of Helsinki to join the "Light for Ukraine" event, which will take place on Monday, February 24, at 18:00 at Senate Square.

We will light candles as a symbol of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. The event will begin with the chiming of the Cathedral’s bells and a minute of silence. The program will also feature performances by Ukrainian choral groups.
Starting from 17:30, the organizers will distribute 2,000 candles. You can also bring your own candle and place it on the cathedral steps starting from 15:00.
At the end of the event, the Ukrainian Association in Finland will collect the candles and send them to Ukraine, where the wax will be used to make trench candles for the front lines.
