Propaganda to Music: NRJ Begins Broadcasting in Donetsk and Recruits for the Army

Initiative FoReDi, in collaboration with The Insider, has released an investigation into the Russian radio station NRJ (ENERGY), which operates under a franchise from a French company.

In 2024, NRJ began broadcasting in Russian-occupied Donetsk. Its advertising blocks also include calls to join the war against Ukraine.

Initiative FoReDi has submitted formal inquiries to ARCOM (France’s media and digital communications regulatory authority) and to the European Parliament, requesting a review of the legality and ethical implications of granting such a franchise.
